mau5cord Rules
1.1 SAFE FOR WORK CONVERSATIONS
As mau5cord is not an age-restricted server, any users that meet the age requirement of Discord's terms of service are welcome to join. Avoid posting content that is explicit, graphic, or otherwise not suitable for a general audience.
1.2 HATE SPEECH / HARASSMENT
Hate speech of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of discrimination. Harassment, bullying, and targeted attacks against individuals or groups are forbidden. This includes unwelcome comments, personal attacks, and intimidation.
1.3 RELIGION / POLITICS
To maintain a peaceful and inclusive environment, avoid discussing religion and politics. These topics often lead to heated debates and conflicts, and we want to keep our community friendly and welcoming to everyone.
1.4 MENTAL HEALTH
Discussions related to mental health, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts are discouraged. Our mod team is not qualified to provide professional help or support for these issues. If you or someone you know is struggling, please seek help from a qualified mental health professional or use available hotlines and resources.
1.5 IMPERSONATION
Impersonating any label employees, artists, or other members of the server is not allowed. This includes using similar usernames, avatars, or any other attempts to mislead others into believing you are someone you are not. Users often use the phrase "mau5" in their screen name. Do not use "deadmau5" or "mau5trap" in full.
2.1 LANGUAGE
The primary language of mau5cord is English. Avoid having conversations in other languages.
2.2 SPAM
Avoid spamming messages, emojis, images, or any other content. This includes repeating the same message multiple times, excessive use of emojis or caps, and flooding channels with unnecessary content.
2.3 SELF PROMOTION
Do not advertise outside of our dedicated #self-promo channel. Moderators do not forward demos to Joel or mau5trap. Do not use the server to submit demos to Joel or mau5trap. This especially includes producer channels.
2.4 MALICIOUS MESSAGES
Sharing phishing links, scams, or any other malicious content is strictly prohibited. This includes links to websites designed to steal personal information, infect devices with malware, or otherwise cause harm.
2.5 USE OF PINGS
Do not ping artists or label employees without a valid reason. Blatant or unnecessary pinging, including the use of the message reply ping feature, is discouraged. Users should not directly message label employees under any circumstances.
3.1 DEADMAU5
Yes, Joel is in mau5cord and occasionally visits the server at his leisure. Please understand that Joel is a busy person and that we respect his time and privacy. Moderators do not represent deadmau5 or mau5trap in any capacity.
3.2 MAU5TRAP
Yes, the record label is present in mau5cord along with Joel. There is a dedicated label category for discussions with employees. Please do not use this category to submit demos or inquire about submissions.
3.3 UNRELEASED MUSIC
Our mod team actively monitors the internet for unreleased and work-in-progress clips taken from previous live streams (across multiple audio and video platforms). These uploads are reported to the label and taken down in due time. Sharing these uploads in mau5cord is heavily discouraged. Please respect the creative process.
3.4 PATREON
Joel has an official deadmau5 Patreon account. Subscribing will give you access to an exclusive channel inside mau5cord. Distributing paid content from this platform is prohibited. If moderators are able to correlate external accounts on other websites to a user in the server, they will be banned indefinitely.
3.5 SHOW TICKETS
Our mod team discourages any ticket exchanges through Discord or other social websites. Users offering or seeking tickets should always conduct these interactions through the original ticket platform to ensure safety and legitimacy. mau5cord is not responsible for any unofficial interchanges or purchases.
